The Department of Humanities & Social Sciences, IIT Jammu, successfully hosted a full-day workshop on “Mastering Academic Writing: A Workshop on Clarity, Publication, Ethics & AI Tools” on September 26, 2025, at the Jagti Campus.

The event began with motivating opening remarks by Dr. Sartaj Ul Hasan (Dean, Administrative Affairs) and Dr. Meenakshi Rajeev (Dean, Skill Development and Outreach), setting an inspiring tone for the day.

The sessions featured distinguished speakers who shared their expertise on various dimensions of academic writing:

1. Prof. Lilavati Krishnan, IIT Kanpur – Navigating the Publication Process
2. Dr. Isha Malhotra, SMVDU – Mastering Academic Writing Skills
3. Dr. Deepti Malhotra, CU Jammu – The Role of AI Tools & Ethics in Academic Writing

Through interactive discussions, practical exercises, and real-world insights, participants explored the essentials of clarity, publication ethics, and the evolving role of AI in research writing.

This workshop not only enhanced participants’ academic writing skills but also fostered a culture of collaboration, learning, and innovation at IIT Jammu.
