Objectives:

IIT Jammu's two-year M.Tech in VLSI Design is a pioneering academic venture that marries the theoretical underpinnings of academia with the dynamic pragmatism of the semiconductor, sensors and AI industries. This advanced program is meticulously structured to navigate the intricate landscape of microelectronics and smart technologies, fortifying students with the skills needed to master complex integrated circuit design and intelligent system innovation.

Emphasizing a dual focus, the program encompasses a comprehensive VLSI curriculum that includes CMOS circuits, FPGA systems, and advanced electives like Edge AI Computing Chips. Simultaneously, it delves into the realm of Intelligent Systems, exploring the integration of AI with hardware design. Program Highlights:

  6. Visit IIT Jammu campus for 5-7 Days, every year for Immersion sessions and examinations. The first year of campus immersion is mandatory, while the second-year campus immersion is optional.

  9. Multiple hours of online lab exercises and project work.


**After 1 Year of completion of course, candidate become eligible for PG Diploma in VLSI Design subject to satisfactory performance.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Demonstrate expertise in state-of-the-art VLSI design and simulation tools to develop, test, and optimize Digital and Analog circuits suitable for various applications.
  2. Design and evaluate integrated systems using advanced VLSI technologies, applying knowledge of Solid-state devices and Semiconductor physics.

Campus Immersion Component:

  1. The campus immersion phase is a pivotal part of the program, offering students the chance to engage in on-campus activities and sessions during the designated immersion period. This allows participants to experience traditional classroom settings and provides a platform to interact directly with IIT Jammu's renowned faculty.
  2. The first year of campus immersion is mandatory, while the second-year campus immersion is optional.
  3. Please be aware of the following:


    1. A detailed schedule for the campus immersion will be shared ahead of the sessions.
    2. Accommodations for learners during the immersion will depend on the availability of hostel space and may incur a nominal fee of INR 5,000 per immersion.
    3. Please note that both the immersion and the overall program fees do not cover meal expenses.
    4. Details regarding the issuance of learner identity cards will be communicated prior to the immersion

    Criteria of Eligibility:

    The eligibility criteria prescribed below are the absolute minimum with no possible exceptions: Eligibility (for students who want to ONLY pursue MTech in VLSI Design)

    1. BE./B.Tech/M.Sc. in ECE/EE/ETC/CSE/Physics or related field.
    2. Minimum experience is 2 years (full time working experience post minimum qualifications).
    3. The qualifying criterion for admission to M.Tech (Executive) is CGPA of 6.0 or 60% in qualifying degree.
    4. For candidates with more than 10 years of experience - Min CGPA requirement is 5.5 or 55% in qualifying degree. (The applicant must qualify the pre-screen test to be eligible for the program)

    Sales and Marketing Partner

    M/s Futurense Technologies Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru, Karnataka is the EdTech Partner for the programme and will offer services to conduct activities such as marketing, promotion, sale, preselection of the candidates, and Learning Management System support.

    Selection Process

    The program’s selection and nomination will be based on the pre-assessment test followed by interview and submission of required documents.

    Upon passing the interview IIT Jammu Admission team will review the application, documents, and exam score to ascertain the selection followed by an offer letter.

    Programme Fee

    The programme fee is ₹4.49 Lakhs (One-time benefit Consolidated Payment) - No refunds after standard deadline.

    The programme fee to be deposited to IIT Jammu.

    Registration Fee: ₹10,000* (Separate Application fees) to be collected by the EdTech Partner and to be adjusted in Programme fee.

    *Non-Refundable: If the Application is not accepted, this amount will be refunded in full. However, if after acceptance of the Application, the student withdraws or drops out, for any reason whatsoever, this amount is strictly non-refundable.

    Part payment provision is available as follows:

    1. ₹2.69 Lakhs at beginning of year 1
    2. ₹2.49 Lakhs at beginning of year 2

    Application Submission

    1. Post evaluation of the candidate eligibility, an application form is to be filled and relevant documents are to be uploaded. 

    2. There will be a Pre-screening assessment, followed by a test and interview. 

    3. After clearing the previous stage, a provisional offer letter will be sent to the candidate by IIT Jammu including IIT Jammu Application form and payment gateway to deposit the fee. 

    4. After verification of application form, documents and programme fee, the candidate will be enrolled to the programme.
