Central Workshop at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu is the place where we work together to attain excellence and create a unique centralized facility for manufacturing by providing latest technology under one roof. This central facility is available for designing and manufacturing of products to the faculty, staff, and students of IIT Jammu as well as for external agencies. Here, various interesting projects have been developed, and some of which have been patented. The CWS is equipped with latest manufacturing equipment, and is expanded in 4500 sq. feet area which is having two sections viz. machining and fabrication section. Machining section is equipped with wire EDM, abrasive water jet machine, CNC & conventional machines, grinders, drill machines, 3D printers and vision measuring system. Fabrication section contains carpentry, welding, sheet metal, FRP, injection moulding and other fitting facilities. Our enthusiastic educated technical team is always ready to conquer the challenges appear before them.
