Optoelectronics and Device Physics Laboratory

Our research is majorly directed towards looking into the fundamental aspects of light -matter interaction and developing optoelectronic devices. The lab is equipped with sophisticated instruments that help in device fabrication and characterization. Our devices are based on layered materials like Graphene, Transition Metal Dichalcogenides(TMDs), hexagonal Boron Nitride etc. The characterization techniques involve Raman Spectroscopy, Photoluminescence and Electroluminescence spectroscopy.

About our lab

Our research is majorly directed towards looking into the fundamental aspects of light -matter interaction and developing optoelectronic devices. The lab is equipped with sophisticated instruments that help in device fabrication and characterization. Our devices are based on layered materials like Graphene, Transition Metal Dichalcogenides(TMDs), hexagonal Boron Nitride etc. The characterization techniques involve Raman Spectroscopy, Photoluminescence and Electroluminescence spectroscopy.

Our research group utilizes 2D materials for application as single photon sources (SPE). We fabricate SPE's using various techniques like electron beam irradiation , plasma etching, annealing, etc. which are then characterized using state of the art TCSPC modules.

Additionally, our work also involves coupling 2D materials to various photonic platforms for enhancement of their optical properties.

We actively utilize the Central Instrumentation Facility of IIT Jammu, our lab members are also involved in matter-matter interaction (Electron Microscopy) and Microfabrication (Photolithography).
