In an effort to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Jammu organised an industrial visit for UG and PG students to Kuantum Papers Ltd.
The industrial visit to Kuantum offered an insight into production techniques, safety protocols, quality control, and the role of innovation in enhancing productivity. The students visited their in-house nursery which ensures continuous supply with a variety of quality raw materials for sustainable development. Students were also briefed about different steps involved in the process of transformation of pulp form agro-residues, hardwood, veneer chips, and bamboo as raw materials. Interaction of students with Engineers and DCS Operators form Pulp Mill and Solvent recovery section helped our students to relate theory with large manufacturing plant operations.
The visit also provided an opportunity for students to Interacting with professionals and gaining insights from industry experts. The visit concluded with a vote of thanks from HoD Chemical Engineering Dr. Ravi Kumar Arun and Associate Vice President HR (KPL) - Sh. Ajay Sharma
